Back to School....let's take a quiz

September 5, 2018, 10:59 AM

We’re in the back-to-school spirit, so it’s quiz time today!
At what age should your first child’s comprehensive eye exam be scheduled?
a. 5 years
b. 10 weeks
c. 6 months
d. 2 days
The correct answer is C, or 6 months. According to the American Optometric Association (AOA), infants should have their first exam at this time. Additionally, they should visit the eye doctor at age 3 and then again before heading off to kindergarten at age 5 or 6.
Since school vision screenings are not comprehensive enough to detect certain vision problems, the AOA recommends that school-aged children get an eye exam every two years. If your child does need glasses, he or she should have exams annually, unless otherwise directed by your eye doctor.
Can’t remember the last time your child had a vision check? Schedule an examination with our office today! Click to redeem our back-to-school offer, and print it off or show us on your phone.
